Emaar

Emaar Properties, whose founder is Mohamed Alabbar, was established in Dubai in 1997, and its shares trade on the Dubai Financial Market. Its 2025 accounts describe the group as partly owned by the Investment Corporation of Dubai, an entity owned by the Government of Dubai, and Dubai Holding says it became Emaar's largest shareholder in 2026, with 29.73%.

Emaar developed Burj Khalifa, the 828 metre tower unveiled in January 2010 and, in Emaar's words, the tallest building on the planet, as well as the master-planned communities it lists as its own: Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina, Dubai Hills Estate and Dubai Creek Harbour.

For an off-plan buyer, the record is the reassurance. Emaar reported more than 130,900 residential units delivered in Dubai and other global markets since 2002, in its first-half 2026 results, and property sales of AED 80.4 billion in 2025, its highest ever. Its buyer guide gives an 80/20 plan as an example, 80% paid during construction and 20% on handover, though each launch sets its own schedule.
